Common Question: One common question we receive is whether it's necessary to complete phases two and three for phase one to be worth doing. The answer is no. In fact, you'll see incredible behavior changes in your dog during phase one alone, making it a fantastic stand-alone course. It's completely up to you whether you decide to continue with the other phases, but we've found that 90% of our clients choose to move on to phase two.

Our 4-session advanced course takes place in a fully fenced, 1.5 acre private dog park, focusing on essential skills such as recall, obstacle training, and de-sensitization to various environmental stimuli like e-scooters, mowers, and hi-vis colors. This course also covers other important training techniques that help your dog build confidence to function effectively in the real world.
*Please note that this course is only available to those who have completed phase one.
PHASE THREE - LIFE SKILLS

Experience real-world training simulations in a fully controlled environment with James Fruze's most popular course. This comprehensive program includes suburban leash walking, café training, Bunnings visits, and reactivity training towards people and/or dogs.
With a total of 20 hours of training over four days, this course provides extensive learning opportunities for your furry friend. Please note that this course is only available to those who have completed phases one and two of our training program.

What People Are Asking Us
Do I have to commit to all three phases of training?
No, you are not obligated to commit to all three phases. Phase one is the starting point, and it's up to you to decide if you want to continue onto the next two phases. We understand that you want to feel comfortable with the training and confident that it will produce the desired results for your furry friend. It's important to note that over 85% of our phase one participants choose to continue onto phase two and three because they see remarkable progress in phase one.
DO YOU OFFER A DISCOUNT IF I DO ALL THREE PHASES?
There is currently no discount for doing all three phases. Subsequent phases can only be booked and paid for individually after you have commenced or completed phase one.
IS MY DOG A SMALL BREED OR MEDIUM/LARGE BREED?
We offer tailored courses to meet the needs of every dog breed, age and size. Our Puppy Course is designed for all breeds aged between 8-14 weeks, ensuring your furry friend receives a strong foundation in obedience and socialization.
For small breeds up to 13kg (average normal weight) and/or under a height of 38cms (15 inches), we have a specially designed Small Breed Course. This includes popular breeds such as Dachshunds, Jack Russels, Cavoodles, Toy Poodles, Pomeranians, Chihuahuas and more. However, we understand that each dog is unique, so we may conduct a mandatory behavioural assessment for breeds like Standard Poodles/Groodles to ensure they are better suited to a small breed course.
For medium and large breeds above 13.5kg (average normal weight) or taller than 40cm (15 inches), we offer our M/L Breed Courses. This course is tailored to meet the needs of breeds such as Beagles, Staffies, Labradors, Golden Retrievers and more, ensuring they receive the specialized training they need to excel in their everyday lives.
DO SMALL BREED COURSES HAVE BIGGER DOGS?
During the small breed courses, we carefully select calm and well-trained medium/large breed dogs to interact with the smaller breeds. While it's common for some smaller dogs to have an adverse initial reaction to larger dogs, we ensure that all interactions are positive and safe. With a 100% success rate, James has a proven track record of helping all dogs coexist safely with their larger counterparts. You can rest assured that your dog will be in good hands during the small breed course.
ARE THERE PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE?
We understand that investing in your dog's training can be a significant expense, which is why we offer payment plans for Phase 3 only. With this option, you can make a deposit of $200 and pay off the remaining balance in weekly installments. You can begin the course as soon as the deposit has been paid and the direct debit plan is in place. Please note that payment plans are not available for private one-on-one training sessions. We strive to make our courses accessible to all and are committed to working with you to find a payment plan that suits your needs.
MY DOG IS ANTI-SOCIAL AND/OR REACTIVE. HOW DO I KNOW THEY WILL BE SUITED TO THIS COURSE?
Rest assured that your furry friend will be in good hands during our group classes. All social interactions are closely supervised and expertly facilitated by James Fruze, who has an impeccable 100% safety record. You can trust that your dog will be kept safe and secure throughout the training, allowing them to have positive and enriching social experiences.
I HAVE A FEARFUL, TIMID OR ANXIOUS DOG. HOW WILL THEY GO IN THESE COURSES?
This course is specifically designed to boost your dog's confidence and help them overcome their fears. Fearful dogs often struggle to overcome their anxieties when they avoid uncomfortable situations. That's why this course provides a safe and controlled environment where dogs can face their fears at their own pace and gradually build their confidence. Even if your dog has a history of nipping or snapping at other dogs or people, don't let that discourage you from enrolling in the course. These behaviors are just a way for your dog to express their discomfort. During the course, you'll learn effective leadership strategies to help your dog trust you and feel more comfortable in any situation. Many dogs who have completed this course have experienced a significant improvement in their overall happiness and comfort level.
MY DOG IS QUITE NAUGHTY. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A DOG TO BE TOO NAUGHTY FOR THESE COURSES?
Rest assured, there is no need to feel embarrassed about your dog's behaviour. Our courses are designed to accommodate dogs with a range of behavioral issues, and every dog that attends is there to learn and improve. No dog is perfect, and that's why we're here to help. We encourage a supportive environment where everyone works together towards the common goal of teaching their dogs new skills and behaviours. So, don't worry about how your dog's behaviour might reflect on you. We're here to help both you and your furry friend succeed.
CAN I BRING GUESTS WITH ME TO CLASSES?
Yes of course. We encourage participants to bring a guest to the course, whether it be an adult or up to two children who are 8 years or older. We do ask that children under the age of 18 are accompanied by an adult, and are supervised at all times. It's important to note that children should not be left alone with any of the dogs in the class for safety reasons.
ARE THERE ANY AGE LIMITS FOR CLASSES?
At James Fruze's dog training school, we welcome dogs of all ages and stages in their development. Our Puppy School is designed for pups aged between 8-14 weeks, while all other courses are open to dogs from 15 weeks to 10+ years old. We believe it's never too late to start training your dog and we're here to support you every step of the way.
WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE A CLASS?
To ensure the effectiveness of the training, it's important for all participants to attend every scheduled class. If you cannot commit to attending all classes, we kindly ask that you do not enrol in the course. Please note that we do not offer refunds for missed classes. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the success of the training program for all participants.
DOES MY DOG HAVE TO BE UP TO DATE WITH VACCINATIONS?
Yes, ensuring a safe environment for all dogs is our top priority. Therefore, it is mandatory for all dogs to have up-to-date vaccinations, and proof of vaccinations will be required before the first dog class. You will receive a link to upload a photo of your dog's vaccinations after the first dog-included class of phase one.
*Please note that we also accept Anti-Body Titer Tests as proof of vaccination.
DO YOU ACCEPT RESCUE DOGS?
That's correct. The course is designed to help all dogs regardless of their past experiences or behavioural issues. It provides owners with the necessary knowledge and tools to help their dogs overcome their challenges and make progress.
